White Noise

White noise consists of all different frequencies in equal intensity. This project aims to explore the duality of my identity. Away from my roots living alone in the West for six years, I felt like I was neither here nor there. The confusion in my identity for a long time led to a sense of loss, as if I was always reaching for something, trying to be part of something. With time I came to the realisation that I would never feel truly belonged anywhere. However I could finally build a sense of belonging in myself through all my drifting. I am a creation of both cultures, I could be everything all at once.

Merging my memories and heritage growing up in the East with the influences of the West, I create a balance between discipline and opulence, in the form of positive and negative spaces that compliment each other. Like white noise, the result of blending everything into one is not chaotic and contradicting, but a state of calm and serenity.
